Hello everyone, this is my first post.
I am a long time user of many wacom products, Mobile studio Pro 16, over 5 Cintiqs of various sizes, and plenty tablet pc's dating back to 2005
I just purchased the following Laptop with Wacom EMR digitizer:
https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/c ... nceptd9pro
Very expensive machine, $6,100.00 to be exact. Nice 17.3 inch screen and power internals. However the pen is terrible. basically the finger touch works but pen doesn't work at all. All I have is a hovering dot that cant input. I cant double click, icons stick like glue without touching them. There is no Wintab on drawing software like Toon Boom Storyboard Pro (My work software)
I can not calibrate the pen on the Tablet Options within Windows control panel. Once I select setup for the pen the pen does not register input on the display.
The pen only works with Windows Ink, but it leaves a trail on the stroke if I hover the pen. Acer Support page does not have any Wacom driver for it either.
Is there an existing Wacom driver for all current EMR pens for download?
Or should I return the unit? The unit was purchased mainly for storyboarding, but for that to happen the pen have to work as it suppose to
Thanks in advanced!

Wacom Drivers for ConceptD 9????
Re: Wacom Drivers for ConceptD 9????
Hi, welcome to the forum.
We do have a driver for this type of devices but you must contact ACER to understand better how their pen implementation is working.

Re: Wacom Drivers for ConceptD 9????
Hello! I'd like to jump in on this if that's ok.
I have recently bought an Acer ConceptD 7 Ezel and also am incredibly interested in Wacom driver support.
I have managed to install the Feel driver, but then once I launch the app I get, "This app requires the Wacom Pen driver to be installed, please go to Wacom.com to download". This link just leads to the same driver's download page.
Is there anything that can be done to make the driver recognise the pen? Other people have confirmed the Wacom One pen works among others on the ConceptD 7 and 9, meaning it must be a S-Pen"/"Penabled"/"Feel" EMR pen.
I recently made a post on Reddit asking for help because a couple of people had managed to do some reverse engineering to get the Feel drivers working on previously unsupported Samsung EMR devices by tweaking the DSDT tables. This is something I would obviously like to avoid because I don't want to accidentally brick my expensive laptop!
In case anyone's interested, here's my post which points to what they did:
https://www.reddit.com/r/wacom/comments ... nise_acer/
It's honestly such a shame that a product that was advertised to have partnered with Wacom, doesn't have any support from either Acer nor Wacom.
I emailed Acer and they said, "Unfortunately, the manufacturer did not provide a special program for controlling the included stylus keys. It is intended only to use the standard values of the keys of this stylus."
If there is any workaround or if a driver is in the works or easily tweaked to include the ConceptD range, that'd make my year.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Wacom Drivers for ConceptD 9????
Hello,
Unfortunately for this type of device, Wacom only provides the hardware (pen sensor) and the driver. The implementation is then done by the manufacturer. Some manufacturers will use out driver UI or a customized version, or just won't use it at all. This is not something Wacom will be able to control.
That message is strange. It should either said that your computer is not compatible, or load the UI. Perhaps ACER has a custom version that is pre-installed and is not compatible with the general one in the website? Please check with them.
Regardless, installing the driver will not make other pens compatible since compatibility is hardware based. It is not possible to just flip a switch and make them compatible. The pens that are confirmed as compatible (Wacom One pen, Staedtler, Lamy, etc.), are using the same pen and sensor type and this is why they work. Other Wacom pen (like Pro Pen 2) technologies, even if EMR, will not work.

Re: Wacom Drivers for ConceptD 9????
Hello again! Thanks very much for your reply.
Sorry if I wasn't very clear about the Feel driver's performance in my previous post.
The Feel driver from the Wacom website installs fine and I can launch the UI.
When I do I can see the battery indicator in the top right of the UI (although obviously empty) and there's briefly an animated loading/searching symbol before showing the message, "This app requires the Wacom Pen driver to be installed, please go to Wacom.com to download".
So I'm guessing it would work but just can't find a compatible pen maybe?
Or is this error abnormal? On the Feel driver's webpage they only mention that the driver won't install at all if the device isn't compatible, which isn't the case here. It installs and the UI launches; it just can't find a pen it seems. That's my interpretation of what's happening, I could be wrong.
The reason I wanted to get the ConceptD 7 mini stylus working with the driver is because the pen has two side buttons, the same is for the normal sized pen that comes with the ConceptD 9 (I currently have one of these on order but think will cancel it as the OP has a ConceptD 9 and so I'm assuming the Feel driver won't recognise that pen either).
I've had a look at the compatible EMR pens you mentioned but they all seem to have either only one side button or none at all. Do you know of any compatible EMR Feel pens which have two side buttons?
I'll definitely follow this up with Acer too.
Thanks again!
