Wacom Color Manager

Hi,

I'm trying to find some more technical information about the Wacom Color Manager, like it's specs and what software it comes with. I read that it is based on an X-Rite product, if so which one? Would it also work with X-Rite software?

My main concern is whether the Wacom Color Manager would be able to calibrate all my screens, e.g. a circa 2012 iMac and a 2016 MacBookPro retina display.

Hi, if you are looking for a tool that will also calibrate non-Wacom displays then the Wacom Color Manager is not the right tool for you.

So the obvious question now from a buying perspective, is the opposite consideration, namely if I were to buy an X-Rite or Spyder product, would they work with a Wacom pen display just as well as the Wacom Color Manager (WCM)? I read that the WCM is optimised for the Wacom and has the ability to write configuration data directly onto the tablets. Is that true? I'm beginning to think that it might be necessary to purchase two color calibrators - one for the Wacom and one for my other screens.

Any information you can provide here to help me with my purchases would be much appreciated.

That is true, with the Wacom Color Manager you can save up to two profiles directly in the Cintiq's hardware. However you can still calibrate the display with any other colorimeter and software. Saving the profile in the hardware is specially useful if you use more than 1 computer with the Cintiq. Otherwise, it might not be so valuable to you.

Hi, Thanks that's great to know. I've got myself a i1DisplayPro so will see how I get on with that. I will not be using the Wacom pen display on more than one computer so it should be ok, based on what you say.
