Cintiq 22HD Touch - pen click without touching the screen

Postby Yalorion » Mon 21. Feb 2022, 13:59

Hi,

I recently got some bugs with my cintiq. I didn't change anything before the bug start to occurs.
The pen signal work like if the pen was touching the screen (and so it "click") even when i'm 1cm away from the screen.
I'm drawing on photoshop, and when i'm taking the pen out from the screen, when i go back at 1cm from the screen and my mouse should apear to folow back the pen it also "click" and start drawing again even with my pen not touching the screen. My pen option is set to "floating click".

When i'm going into the diagnose tab in the wacom tablette properties, everything is working fine to me.

I tried to update the pilotes, and restart the computer but the bug still occurs. But not all the time.
Any ideas on where that bug come from ?

Best regards.

Hello,
You most likely have a "stuck nib" issue. Remove the nib in your pen and let your pen rest sideways or vertically with the Nib end facing downwards for around 24h. This will allow the piezoelectric crystal used in the pressure sensor to relax and return to his original form. In the long run, you will need to replace the pen.

Ah, okay thank you. I already commanded a new one, but it's good to know why the bug appeared
