I'm using PTH-660 via Bluetooth connection and as soon as pen recognized over the table (even absolutely still) there is 50% core load
I have 8-core i9 and it ALWAYS 6-8% (50% core due to hyper-threading) load when I work with Wacom
Is this normal? Why do the simple input device need to use entire core? for example Bluetooth mouse load 0,1-0,2% per core
I did't noticed this issue with the desktop PC, but while I use Wacom with the notebook this issue cause fan always ON and battery drain
Please let me know if there any fix

Re: PTH-660 and 100% core load
By the way - could anyone who use Wacom on 4 or 2 core PC - confirm if it utilize 12,5% / 25% CPU load respectively
How to attach screenshot here? - https://clip2net.com/s/4dkMud4
It is "Tablet Service for professional driver" causing this problem
Heavy 6-8% CPU load only when Wacom connected via Bluetooth
When it is USB connected this service is only 0,2% of CPU load
Bluetooth connectivity heavy CPU load should be fixed!

Re: PTH-660 and 50% core load
this issue was confirmed by Wacom Support - any news when it be fixed?
Re: PTH-660 and 50% core load
Bluetooth connection will always require more resources than wired connection. This is true for any wireless device, not just Wacom's.
Something that perhaps is not clear is that there are there are less visible drawbacks to using BT connection. There is a certain additional workload for any computer system to handle BT connections.
For Wacom devices specifically, this load with be added to the Wacom driver since Windows does not natively support all the data from the hardware.
From our testing, we have seen that our devices performance with Bluetooth is on the same level as other 3rd party peripherals. There are not means to improve since this is a drawback from the technology itself.
This is true for all Bluetooth devices (Wacom and Non-Wacom) and this is why in many cases, a wired solution is still proposed.
USB is implemented on a lower level in the OS and the hardware and therefore the load itself on the system is lower - and less visible.
If your CPU is still running too high when the Wacom driver is running with a Bluetooth connection, please check to see if it's whitelisted in your AV or Firewall services. We have seen in the past that some of these solutions, while not black listing the driver, make constant scans of the .exe while it's running and can lead to higher CPU loads.

Re: PTH-660 and 50% core load
this is not true as I tried many BT devices (pro mouses, keyboards, headsets) connected to different PCs and non of them caused full core load even in idle mode
Re: PTH-660 and 50% core load
Hi,
We tested on multiple devices with multiple computers and the load increase is to be expected.
It's a limitation of the technology as was also mentioned in the Reddit thread you linked earlier.
I have just verified this with my nearly 5 year old Lenovo laptop and an Intuos Pro. The CPU load from the driver sits around 10-12% versus when 3-4% wired. This is not "fixable". This is nowhere near the 50% you claim so please check if there is nothing else interfering with the system as that would be the only reason I can imagine you would get such a high load since you originally started this thread.
