Hi
Unfortunately I keep having the stuck key issue, even after updating to the very latest driver. I sure hope this thread is not abandoned, because this bug has been causing me great trouble for a long time now.
Here are my answers to the questions provided by "wacom4":
1) Driver version
Currently I have 6.3.44-2, but I've tried all of the last 10 driver versions at least once, with the issue appearing with each of them.
2) Hardware - both Mac and Wacom device
Mac mini (2018) with MacOs Big Sur 11.6 (previously Catalina with same issue)
Wacom Intuos pro M pen tablet, model PTH-651
3) What shortcut are you using
Shortcuts with shift in them seem to be the problem. Sometimes it instead seems to be the option key that's stuck, but this doesn't happen as often.
4) How that shortcut is assigned (what option in the driver settings) to the tablet, pen, or touch (what button on their specific model).
I use all 8 express keys on the tablet (also the touch ring for zoom, that doesn't seem to be a problem though). I don't use the express keys on the pen at all. I always have "touch" disabled.
5) How the shortcut is used in a specific application.
See detailed description below.
6) Expected result vs observed result
See detailed description below.
There seems to be a "mild version" of the bug for me, where it only affects the express keys. In Illustrator CC, the express keys that are programmed for a shortcut with shift in them stop working. For example instead of selecting the eraser tool (shift + E) the transform tool is selected (E). This is annoying, but I can keep working by using the shortcuts on the keyboard directly.
In the "bad version" of the bug it doesn't only affect the express keys, but the whole system (finder, browser, etc.) acts as if the shift or option keys are pressed, which makes working impossible.
Restarting the driver rarely works. Restarting the computer always works, but often the bug reappears after a very short time.
Sometimes when I had the "mild" version and then restarted the driver, that triggered the "bad" version.
The "bad" version has also appeared when I just used the tablet pen as a mouse to navigate in finder, and pressed down the space bar for preview mode of image files. In that case the preview window opens slowly, which would happen when "shift" is pressed. After that, the key seems stuck, and only a restart helps.
Using the pen and the shift/option keys on the keyboard simultanously (for example to navigate in Google Maps globe view in the Firefox browser) has also triggered the problem of the stuck modifier. Sometimes pressing the key on the keyboard once seems to release the stuck key, sometimes not.
In Photoshop CC, I've periodically experienced a slightly different "variant" of the bug: without even using any express keys, it's as if "option" was pressed, so for example instead of the brush tool, the color picker will appear. While this didn't affect the whole system, working in Photshop with the tablet became impossible. This issue hasn't appeared lately, but I'm scared it will again.
I'd be very thankful if you could look into my specific issue, and will gladly provide more info if needed. Apart from this frustrating problem, I do like working with my Wacom tablet very much.
Thanks and kind regards,
Micha
